We use digital radiography – a procedure that uses up to 90% less radiation than traditional film-based X-rays. With this technology, we use a small sensor in your mouth instead of film. The results are instantly viewable on a chairside monitor, so Dr. Reich can immediately review all anatomical structures and accurately diagnose your dental problems. Digital X-rays are convenient, safe for the environment, provide a great opportunity for patient education, can be transferred and copied accurately and best of all, are safer for our patients.
We use composite resin instead of traditional metal or mercury fillings – because traditional fillings can cause painful sensitivity, hairline fractures that can leave teeth vulnerable to bacteria and may be harmful to the body’s health. With composite resin, you can have the natural, tooth-colored look you want, with long-term protection that actually strengthens your tooth, without putting your overall health at risk.
We follow the latest sterilization techniques and guidelines recommended by several federal and state agencies for your safety and protection.
Universal precautions are followed: washing hands before and after treating each patient, wearing protective lab coats, face masks, gloves and eye protection. Our office instruments are examined and cleaned with an ultrasonic machine, then they are packaged properly and sterilized. They are unwrapped from their sterilization paper packets only during the patient’s visit. We use barriers wherever feasible to prevent contaminants from touching treatment room surfaces. All disposable items used during your treatment including plastic or paper and sharp instruments are used only once, then thrown away in appropriate disposal equipment. Other non-disposable plastic or metal items that cannot be sterilized, including countertops and surfaces, are carefully cleaned and treated with a strong disinfectant that neutralizes the disease pathogens and viruses. Infection control and universal precautions protect patients and staff alike.
We hope that the more educated you are about our daily procedures and policies, the more comfortable you will feel.
